Extreme Switching – Advanced Configuration, 21-22/11/2024

Students will learn methods to enhance their existing switching and routing environment with security, traffic optimisation, automation and integration functions. Various network management tasks will be practised. This knowledge will be reinforced by actual hands-on experience with networking equipment in a laboratory environment, where students will perform real tasks.

 

Target audience

Designed as a knowledge enhancement with a focus on optimization, this course is aimed at individuals responsible for implementing and maintaining the Extreme Networks family of ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine switches.

 

Requirements

This training builds on the knowledge gained in the “Extreme Switching – Installation and Configuration” training. To be eligible for certification in this course, you must first have earned certification in the previous course. Students should have a solid understanding of LAN concepts, including switching and routing, advanced Ethernet concepts and an introductory course in TCP/IP.

 

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will have acquired the operational knowledge to:

• Implement security mechanisms in ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine devices, such as ONEPolicy or ACLs.
• Implement traffic optimization techniques, such as Quality of Service.
• Automate, integrate and enhance ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine capabilities with features such as Fabric Attach, CLI scripting, as well as Python scripting and Python processes.
• Achieve a learning credential on the Professional Program training track.
